First post!

Just a few weeks ago, we got engaged!

Now we are putting our relationship to the ultimate trial- a really long road trip!

So far, so good...

Collin & Suzanne's Wedding

Before we left, we had a very special event to attend: Collin's wedding! It was so special and we had so much fun.  Top moments: Collin's face when Suzanne was walking down the aisle; Nat as a groomsman; Allison Van Fleet's speech; DANCING and more specifically, Nana and Gramps dancing to Daft Punk :)

This morning, it was extremely difficult to say good-bye. I am so thankful for all the love in my life, and I am strong enough to go on this adventure because of you.

Day One- Phili to Port Clinton Ohio

I'm pretty tired at this point so I'll cover some highlights.

Final moment on the east coast: My best friend and I sobbing publicly...our male counterparts bravely pulling us in opposite directions.

Time until Johnny was sick of driving: 45 minutes

Best moment: Showing Jersey Boy how to pump gas.  He is currently watching Duck Dynasty and will probably make me take this down ;)

Music: Pandora's 90's hits.

What I learned about my fiancee: He is even more patient than I thought he was and he likes Smashing Pumpkins more than I thought he did.

Scenery: Pennsylvania went on FOREVER! And, I was very disappointed that we hit cornfields sooner than I had hoped. Basically, Pennsylvania and Ohio looked like this...

And this is how I looked....

Best part of the drive today: We stopped in Harrisburg for lunch with John's sister, Katie!

Port Clinton, Ohio is very underwhelming. But, we did take this pic in front of Lake Erie:

That's it for today! Off to Iowa tomorrow. Love you all and miss you already!!!

  5. THIS IS DAD - Was that park where Custer had his last stand? Yes, Rushmore is kind ironic, you have the huge heads and yet the park keeps you so far away that they appear very small. They do have a nice facility for the seniors.

  6. Take a lot of breaks if you do the long drive! I know you're anxious to get there but one more day won't matter. You can find your apartment on Sunday too! Loved the stories and pics - so cool what you two are doing. Much love and admiration. M.C. (Mama Chief)
Here's Dad: Hi Em. It is okay to spend the night someplace 3 or 4 hours away and get up early. You can still make it in tome for some apartment tours.

    Be safe.
